Insurance and Financing

Clear costs, structured discounts, and expert insurance coordination to make your recovery realistic.

"Cancer is expensive. Most survivors arrive at our practice already exhausted by the financial side of treatment, and the last thing they need is more confusion. We have built our financial process around two principles: clear written estimates before any work begins, and structured discounts that make care realistic for survivors."

The Cancer Survivor Discount

We offer a 40 percent discount on standard fees for cancer patients and survivors. This applies across most services, including consultations, restorative work, dental implants, full-mouth reconstruction, and ongoing maintenance.

Combined with insurance benefits (medical and dental), most patients pay around 60 percent of standard out-of-pocket fees.We will run the numbers for your specific case during treatment planning.

How We Handle Insurance

Cancer-related dental care is one of the few areas where both medical and dental insurance can play a role.

Medical Insurance

Many survivors do not realize their medical insurance may cover dental work directly related to cancer treatment, including:

  • Extractions before radiation or implant placement after surgery
  • Treatment for trismus, xerostomia, and other medical sequelae
  • Reconstructive procedures following oral cancer surgery
  • Sedation for medically complex patients

Dental Insurance

Typically covers standard portions of treatment: cleanings, exams, fillings, crowns, and certain implant components.

We work with most major dental plans and can verify your benefits before treatment begins. We provide written pre-authorizations and predetermination letters for insurers when appropriate.

"We help coordinate medical insurance benefits, file claims appropriately, and pursue medical coverage for procedures that qualify."

Transparency You Can Count On

Written Estimates Before Treatment

Once we complete your consultation and treatment planning, you will receive a written estimate that includes procedures with billing codes, standard fees, and all applicable survivor discounts.

"You do not commit to anything until you understand the cost."

Phased Care to Match Budgets

Many patients need substantial work but cannot pay for it all at once. We can phase treatment over months or years, sequencing the most urgent work first.

For patients with insurance benefits that reset annually, we can sometimes structure care to draw on multiple plan years.

Does Medicare cover any of this?

Traditional Medicare does not cover routine dentistry, but it does sometimes cover dental procedures that are medically necessary as part of cancer treatment. We work with patients to identify and pursue these benefits.

Is dental implant placement covered by insurance?

Dental insurance often covers part of implant treatment, but rarely the full cost. Medical insurance sometimes covers implants placed as part of post-cancer reconstruction, particularly for survivors of oral or head and neck cancer. We help patients pursue every avenue available.

What if I do not have insurance?

Our 40 percent survivor discount applies regardless of insurance status. We can also discuss phased treatment and third-party financing.

Will you tell me the cost before I commit?

Always. No treatment proceeds without a written estimate you have reviewed and approved.
